Article 3 paragraph 1 of the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 6 of 2020 confirms that the acceptance of new undergraduate students (S1) at State Universities (PTN) is carried out through the National Selection of State Universities (SNMPTN) and Joint Selection of State Universities (SBMPTN), can also be done through other channels organized by each university. In 2022, the Rectors from 25 PTNs who are members of the West Territory Indonesian PTN BKS (BKS PTN-West) have agreed to hold an Independent Selection for Higher Education Entrance Pathways together called the SMM PTN-WEST 2022.
