Reducing Dependence on Imports of Silk Yarn, IPB University Researchers Develop Synthetic Lines of Non Mulberry Silk

In an effort to reduce Indonesia’s dependence on raw silk thread, a research team from the Faculty of Animal Science (Fapet) of IPB University is trying to develop four synthetic strains of the non-mulberry silkworm Samia ricini. The IPB University team was chaired by Prof. Ronny Rachman Noor through the Kedaireka program.
