The Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is a structure specifically designed to remove industrial waste, both biological and chemical, from water. The benefits of using WWTP are to treat wastewater so that it can be reused according to their respective needs, make the water flow to the river clean and suitable for use, and effectively keep plants in the soil and water free from death due to toxins. By implementing WWTP, it is hoped that the risk of water contamination can be minimized so that it can be used for daily activities, such as bathing, washing, or cooking.
IPB has several WWTPs as an effort to purify water from the rest of the laboratory use, one of which is WWTPs in the laboratory of the Department of Chemistry, FMIPA IPB. In addition, IPB also has water purification WWTPs in several locations, namely Vocational Schools, Flats (Rusunawa), CRC Building of the Science and Technology Regional Institute (LKST), and IPB Polyclinic.
