It is recorded that as many as 67 million women in the fertile category in Indonesia are estimated to contribute the amount of sanitary napkin waste up to 1.4 billion every month. It is known that 90 percent of the main composition of sanitary napkins is plastic where one pack of sanitary napkins is equivalent to four plastic bags. Therefore, the sanitary napkin waste takes a very long time to be degraded. Furthermore, this waste can generate methane gas which can pollute the environment and become one of the causes of climate change, as well as plastic layers that will become microplastics.
