As a biodiversity campus with extensive forested land and gardens, IPB University has identified the diversity of flora and fauna (mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles) and has been used as a lesson for the academic community. So far, IPB University has identified the presence of wildlife species including snakes and has implemented safety protocols for several points that have the potential to attack wildlife such as snakes and long-tailed monkeys. This effort is carried out in order to maintain the safety and comfort of all IPB University residents in carrying out their academic activities. This was revealed by the Deputy Chancellor for Education and Student Affairs of IPB University, Dr Drajat Martianto, responding to the tragedy that befell one of the students who died allegedly due to being bitten by a snake. Furthermore, Dr Drajat said that the incident of a student dying in the garden from being bitten by a snake that happened a few days ago was the first time this had happened.
